Visual City
An interactive exhibition and lab about Norrköping's urban development, built on a digital twin of the city with AI and computer vision behind it. Unlike the dome or the arenas it is not a single immersive projection system — it is a set of exhibition stations and projected surfaces spread across exhibition levels 2 and 3.

Level 2 — exhibition stations
Six stations, L2-EXHIB-01-V through L2-EXHIB-06-V, at 172.19.52.11, .21, .31,
.41, .51 and .61 respectively.
Stations 01–04 also have temporary addresses on the 172.19.53.1x1 range recorded in
the source documentation. If a station is unreachable on its 172.19.52.x address, try the
temporary one before concluding the machine is down. See
Computers, Level 2.
Level 2 also hosts the WATER projectors, which project down onto a table. Their credentials are in Bitwarden, not here — see Projectors, Level 2.
Level 3 — SimStad
Level 3 runs SimStad on an HP Z workstation with WATCHOUT installed, driving three projectors. It is currently used to show OpenSpace via a DisplayPort frame grabber — i.e. WATCHOUT is capturing OpenSpace's output rather than playing a prepared show. That capture path is worth remembering, because it means a "WATCHOUT problem" here may actually be an OpenSpace problem.
Machines: LVL3-SIMSTAD-01 (172.19.53.41) and LVL3-SIMSTAD-02 (172.19.53.42).
See Computers, Level 3 and
Projectors, Level 3.
Daily open and close
Visual City has no operator manual because it runs unattended as an exhibition. The daily routine is:
Opening
- Walk both levels and confirm every station and projected surface is showing content.
- Confirm the SimStad projection on Level 3 is running and correctly aligned.
- Confirm interaction (touch, cameras, sensors) responds.
Closing
- Return anything left in a menu state to idle content.
- Note stations that required intervention.
Confirm what each Level 2 station displays, whether the temporary IP addresses are still in use, and whether the stations are powered down overnight.
