Passwords

Passwords

Passwords should NOT be shared and/or saved via mail, documents, or on paper!

Also giving out password directly between persons should be avoided as much as possible.

Password Manager

We have a Password manager software called Bitwarden that we should use, this software is also recommended by LiU-IT.

We (C-tech) have a locally hosted Bitwarden instance, that is located here: https://c-bitwarden.itn.liu.se/

(the URI above should be configured, in the applications, extentions and apps, so the official Bitwarden vault isn't used by mistake (then our C-tech passwords won't be accessible)).

All your information stored in Our or Bitwardens vault are totally safe, and can't be accessed by anyone else.

For more information, go here Vault Data, Encryption and Bitwarden Privacy Policy

For C-tech work accounts, I (Andreas) need to invite all C-tech staff, that need access to the our password collection.

Invitation (and other) e-mails from our vault, are sent as Bitwarden with this e-mail address Bitwarden no-reply@c-bitwarden.itn.liu.se.

If you want you, can also add private accounts to our server or to the official Bitwarden Web Vault https://vault.bitwarden.com/#/.

All Bitwarden applications, extentions and apps, can handle multiple accounts (i.e. work, private and other).

Our locally hosted bitwarden, can be accessed via the built in Web Vault here: https://c-bitwarden.itn.liu.se/#/login
